Savannah Weldon Advances Her Vocal Studies at the University of Cincinnati

With support from the Anthony Quinn Foundation, Savannah Weldon attended the Schmidt Vocal Institute (SVI) in summer 2025, where she participated in masterclasses, vocal lessons, and classes in vocal technique and diction for singers. The program also provided valuable performance opportunities and connected her with a community of young singers she hopes to know for years to come. One highlight was her final performance of Laurie’s Song from Aaron Copland’s The Tender Land.

Savannah now studies classical voice at the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), where she is a Hoffman Honors Scholar and a member of the University Honors Program. During her first year, she won first prize in the music department’s undergraduate competition and was named a finalist in the Schmidt Undergraduate Vocal Competition.

Her achievements have also opened doors to international study. Savannah received a scholarship to study Italian opera and language at the Accademia Vocale Lorenzo Malfatti in Lucca, Italy, in summer 2026. At CCM, she performs in undergraduate opera productions and chamber choir, while also singing regularly at Knox Presbyterian Church in Cincinnati.

Looking ahead, Savannah is scheduled to perform the role of Beauty in Vittorio Giannini’s Beauty and the Beast in February 2027. In spring 2027, she will join the inaugural Hoffman Honors Scholars study tour to Austria, exploring Vienna and Salzburg through music and the historical, cultural, and artistic forces that shaped these cities.

Savannah credits the Anthony Quinn Foundation’s support as an important part of her artistic journey. We congratulate her on these accomplishments and look forward to following her continued growth as a classical vocalist.
