Max Concejo Bragado Builds on His Artistic Journey in the United States

Originally from Valladolid, Spain, Max Concejo Bragado attended the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) Visual Arts Summer Intensive in summer 2024 with support from an Anthony Quinn Foundation Scholarship. The experience helped him grow as an artist and gave him the confidence to pursue further educational opportunities in the United States, eventually inspiring him to become an exchange student in New York.

During his exchange, Max became an honor student at Maple Grove High School while immersing himself in American culture and adapting to a new way of life. He is now a senior in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, continuing to build on the academic and personal growth that began with his summer arts experience.

Max continues to explore his artistic interests through painting. His latest oil painting was inspired by a trip to Amsterdam and draws on the work of two of his favorite artists, Vincent van Gogh and Joaquín Sorolla. Using a vertical perspective, he interprets the city through the influence of these distinct artistic traditions and his own developing perspective.

Max expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity the Anthony Quinn Foundation provided and hopes to remain connected with the AQF community. We congratulate him on his continued growth as a student and artist and look forward to seeing where his journey takes him next.
