Carisa Aballi at Summer University Theater Experience
Preparing for college auditions can feel overwhelming, but for Carisa Aballi, attending the Summer University Theater Experience (S.U.T.E.) transformed that process into an exciting opportunity for growth. The two-week summer theater intensive brought together faculty and admissions representatives from 12 of the nation's top university theater programs, giving her an inside look at the training and expectations of competitive BFA programs.
Through immersive classes in acting for stage and screen, Shakespeare, audition preparation, and the Meisner Technique, Carisa expanded both her technical skills and her creative approach to performance. The experience not only strengthened her craft but also helped her begin preparing college prescreens and auditions with greater confidence.
Equally valuable were the relationships she built throughout the program. Working alongside talented young actors while learning directly from professors and admissions officers gave Carisa a clearer vision of her future and a deeper understanding of the collaborative environment she hopes to join in college.
"This program challenged and expanded my approach to acting by introducing me to a variety of techniques I now integrate into my work. Spending this time preparing for college auditions and honing my craft has been a blessing that I'm forever grateful for."
Made possible through an Anthony Quinn Foundation Theatre Scholarship and the generous support of the Hayes Family Foundation, the experience has given Carisa a strong foundation as she prepares for the next chapter of her artistic journey.
