Luke Groves

2026 Instrumental Scholarship Recipient

Luke Groves is a 16-year-old French horn player from Ashburn, Virginia, who began his musical journey after returning to in-person learning and seeking a meaningful form of self-expression. What started as a school band choice quickly developed into a deep commitment to performance and musical storytelling.

His playing is guided by a desire to connect with others through music. Luke has performed in a variety of settings, from formal concerts to community events, where he has experienced the emotional impact music can have on audiences. Through disciplined practice and mentorship, he has developed both technical skill and the ability to collaborate within ensemble settings, shaping a thoughtful and expressive approach to his instrument.

Luke plans to continue advancing as a musician while pursuing opportunities to perform and grow within the broader musical community. The AQF scholarship will support his development as he attends the Boston University Tanglewood Institute French Horn Workshop, where he will receive intensive training, work with experienced faculty, and refine his artistry alongside other dedicated young musicians.
