Bridget Flynn

2026 Literary Arts Scholarship Recipient

Bridget Flynn is an 18-year-old writer from Narragansett, Rhode Island, whose work is grounded in close observation and a commitment to capturing the complexity of human behavior. Her writing often begins with small, precise moments, building toward narratives that resist simplification and easy interpretation.

She is particularly interested in portraying young people with nuance, challenging common narratives that reduce adolescence to stereotypes. Through fiction, Bridget explores emotional contradiction, moral ambiguity, and the ways individuals construct meaning in their lives. Her work reflects a belief that attention itself is a creative and ethical act.

Bridget plans to continue developing her voice as a writer of fiction and plays. The AQF scholarship will support her as she attends the Yale Young Writers’ Workshop, where she will engage in intensive critique, experiment with form, and refine her work in a community of dedicated young writers.
