2024 Theatre Scholarship Recipient

Kashvi's first film audition for a project entitled "Karma", exposed her to the superficial representation of Hindu values in Western media, fueling her determination to ensure authentic South Asian narratives. Kashvi aspires to reclaim control of these stories by utilizing her skills in writing, performing, and South Asian studies to advocate for diverse and accurate representation.

Bridging theatre and liberal arts, Kashvi utilizes her cultural and historical background to create meaningful artistic expressions. Through scripts, songs, and narratives, she addresses themes such as Hindu mythology and LGBTQ+ issues, aiming to incite social change. Her recent endeavors include writing and directing a short film that sparked discussions among students from diverse backgrounds, illustrating the importance of accurate representation.

Rejecting roles that perpetuate stereotypes, Kashvi remains committed to projects that authentically portray her culture. Her long-term vision includes establishing a production company for Indian Americans, fostering collaboration and development opportunities for South Asian artists. With a multifaceted education and dedication to influencing change, Kashvi aims to be the connecting resource for authentic representation in the entertainment industry.
