Rubi's journey with the violin spans over 8 years, providing her with a means to navigate the complexities of ADHD. Before her diagnosis in high school, she struggled with typical academic tasks but found solace and focus in music without the need for medication. For Rubi, music isn't just a creative outlet; it's a deeply personal journey that allows her to express herself authentically and connect with the world around her. Through music, she has discovered the power of passion and embraced it as an integral part of her life.

The support of mentors and the motivation from fellow musicians have been crucial in Rubi's musical development. Over the years, she has cultivated a strong sense of self-awareness and a special connection to music through dedicated practice and guidance from conductors and teachers. These relationships have provided her with artistic opportunities and a nurturing environment within the music community, fostering her growth over the past 8 years.

Rubi sees the Sounding Point Academy summer program at the Colburn School as an opportunity for musical growth and self-discovery. She looks forward to further refining her artistic voice under the guidance of distinguished violin teachers and mentors. Additionally, the program offers her a chance to pursue her musical passion without the barriers of ADHD medication, providing a liberating experience focused solely on her artistic development.
