Manav Tokala at Summer University Theatre Experience

Manav (AQF '25) shares his experience at SUTE acting track, and how much it helped him grow as a performer.

“This summer, I attended the Summer University Theatre Experience (SUTE), a two-week intensive, through the generous support of the Anthony Quinn Foundation Scholarship. The program was incredibly transformative for me both as an artist and an individual. I explored new acting methods, trained with college professors, and performed monologues while receiving valuable feedback that has prepared me for the upcoming college audition season.

Through workshops in movement, Shakespeare, and contemporary acting, I strengthened every aspect of my craft while collaborating with other passionate young artists. Being surrounded by such driven and talented peers pushed me to grow and inspired me to take more risks in my work. I was able to work day in and day out on what I love to do with others who have many of the same interests as myself. Each session revealed skills and techniques I hadn’t known I was capable of, expanding my perspective on what it means to be an actor.

I am deeply grateful to the Anthony Quinn Foundation for funding this life-changing opportunity. SUTE not only gave me insight into what a four-year college program will be like, but it also left me more confident, prepared, and thrilled to continue my journey in acting.”
