Samantha Rossow
2016 Visual Arts Scholarship Recipient
Samantha has always had a deep passion for art, driven by her desire to be creative and produce something beautiful and inspiring. Since she was young, she found herself captivated by book illustrations and cartoons, sparking a strong interest in learning how to create art herself. Now a junior in high school, Samantha is eagerly participating in the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design pre-college program, focusing on Field Painting and Drawing.
Having lived in a small town in Iowa for most of her life, she is excited about the opportunity to create artwork while exploring the urban and natural spaces of Milwaukee. Samantha possesses a strong sense of adventure and a longing to experience the world beyond Iowa. Drawing and painting from life are among her favorite areas of study, as they allow her to capture the emotions and movements of people and the unique atmosphere of different places. The program offers her the chance to further develop these skills, which is why she is thrilled to be a part of it.
