Kate's love for musical theater was ignited at the age of ten during a performance of "Annie," where she played the titular character. Despite a mishap with her stage dog, Sandy, Kate's determination and talent shone through as she belted out the lyrics of "Tomorrow" with unwavering passion. The applause and cheers from the audience solidified her love for performing, and since that moment, Kate has dedicated herself to pursuing her passion for musical theater. From her early role in "The Wizard of Oz" to her recent portrayal of Reno Sweeney in "Anything Goes," Kate's involvement in theater has only deepened her love for the art form.
Having performed in various theaters around Rhode Island, including the prestigious Gamm and Trinity Rep, Kate feels that it is time to take her skills to the next level through professional training. She believes that participating in the NYU Steinhardt Summer Study in Music Theater would provide the ideal opportunity to further develop her acting, singing, and dancing abilities in a professional and challenging environment. With college auditions on the horizon, Kate hopes to emerge from the program with enhanced skills and a solid foundation for her future theatrical endeavors.
Beyond her dedication to the stage, Kate is also a highly motivated academic student. She sees the Steinhardt program as a gateway to not only honing her theatrical talents but also opening up academic opportunities as she prepares for the college application process. With the support of the Anthony Quinn Foundation, Kate aspires to pursue her passion for musical theater at a higher level and envisions a future that is rich with performances and the fulfillment that comes from sharing her talents with the world.
