Daniel is a junior at HSLDA Online Academy in Akron, OH. His journey into classical music began as a form of cognitive therapy during his battle with stage IV neuroblastoma as an infant. Fascinated by classical tunes on the radio as a toddler, his musical exploration began at the age of 6 with piano lessons, but it was at 8 when he discovered his true passion for the organ. Witnessing the awe-inspiring performance of the church organist during Mass, the organ became a cherished outlet for Daniel, especially since contact sports were off-limits due to his medical history.
Since 2018, he has been a pre-college student at the Cleveland Institute of Music, immersing himself in piano, organ, music theory, eurythmics, and chamber music. Now, his aspiration is to pursue organ, sacred music, and historical keyboards at a prestigious music conservatory. Understanding that being a musical artist is a calling rather than merely a career choice, he strives to become a well-rounded musician who can connect with audiences of all ages.
Recognizing France as the home of the world's greatest organs and organ composers, he yearned for the opportunity to play and receive instruction on the same instruments that inspired the French organ repertoire. Such an experience will undoubtedly deepen his understanding of French organ technique and musical style. The Anthony Quinn Foundation Scholarship makes his dream of attending the French Organ Music Seminar a reality.
