Luisa Quintão Frade at Pratt School of Art

Luisa (AQF '25) tells us about her experience in Pratt's PreCollege Program and how it has influenced her artistic journey.

“My summer at Pratt's PreCollege Program was life-changing. During the four weeks of the course I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and explored mediums that I had never used. I learned to use new software, meet demanding deadlines, and constantly refine my work thanks to my amazing professors. From drawing live models in Illustration to bringing characters to life in 3D Animation, I was constantly assured that art truly is my vocation.

Beyond the classes, exploring New York City and the Pratt campus inspired me to continue making art. This program didn't just teach me technical skills; it offered a glimpse into a future I had only imagined, proving that a career in animation is not just a dream, but a reachable reality.

This whole experience felt like a dream come true, and I am sure it will impact my life in countless ways. Thank you, Anthony Quinn Foundation, for allowing me to cross continents to pursue my passion. These four weeks in New York were priceless and I am sure that the memories and knowledge will remain in my mind forever. Thank you."
