Kyo Lee at Interlochen Arts Camp
Kyo (AQF '24) recently returned from her creative writing intensive program at Interlochen Arts Camp and shared her reflections.
“The Interlochen Arts Camp taught me not only how to write but how to exist in the literary space. Thanks to the Anthony Quinn Foundation, I was able to immerse myself in a creative space, and dedicate the necessary time to reflect on my work.
Attending the camp helped me with my first collection of poetry “I cut my tongue on a broken country.” The wonderful instructors and supportive writers helped me in both crafting literary pieces and myself. Having this time to reflect on myself as an artist taught me many parts of writing beyond writing: it taught me how to rest, how to preserve myself, and how to get re-excited to write.
I am beyond grateful to have had this opportunity to be surrounded by new people, fantastic talent, and wonderful scenery. Thank you!”
