Katherine Berdovskiy Expands Her Vocal Journey

The support of the Anthony Quinn Foundation continues to play an important role in Katherine Berdovskiy’s pursuit of a career in classical singing. Following her participation in the San Francisco Summer Vocal Academy through an AQF scholarship, Katherine was inspired to deepen her vocal studies and seek out new opportunities for artistic growth.

This summer, she was accepted to Yale’s Kaleidoscope Vocal Academy, a selective program that brought together just 24 students from across the country. During the program, Katherine participated in masterclasses, private vocal coaching, small and large ensemble rehearsals, and chamber music workshops. Reflecting on the impact of the Foundation’s support, she shared, “The generosity of the Anthony Quinn Foundation gave me a huge push toward pursuing my dream of becoming a professional classical singer by making educational opportunities more affordable and achievable.”

While classical singing remains at the heart of her musical development, Katherine is also exploring new genres and ways of connecting with her community. This year, she and a group of friends formed Trust Fall, an alternative rock cover band that made its debut at the Yolo County Fair this summer. She describes the experience as “a lot of fun exploring a different style of music alongside my classical vocal studies.”

Now a high school senior, Katherine is beginning the college application process with plans to continue her vocal studies as an important part of her higher education. As she looks toward the future, she remains grateful for the opportunities that have helped shape her development as a young artist.

“Thank you again to the Anthony Quinn Foundation for supporting me and helping make these opportunities possible,” Katherine wrote. “I’m very grateful to be part of the AQF community!”

We congratulate Katherine on her continued musical growth and wish her the very best as she pursues her college goals and continues developing her distinctive voice as an artist.
