Jenny Thomas Begins a New Chapter at the University of Michigan

This summer, Jenny Thomas continued to develop her artistry through two enriching musical experiences. She attended the Encore Summer Academy and returned for her second year at Madeline Island Chamber Music, where she continued exploring the relationship between musicality, storytelling, and performance on the violin.

Both programs helped Jenny deepen her understanding of how to communicate through music and become a more expressive and impactful performer. Reflecting on the experience, she shared that the festivals “deepened my understanding of musicality and storytelling on the violin” and helped her grow as a performer. She is especially grateful for the teachers she worked with and for the knowledge they shared throughout the summer.

Outside of her musical studies, Jenny also had the opportunity to travel to Korea to visit family. During her trip, she explored Seoul and enjoyed reconnecting with her roots, adding a meaningful personal experience to an already memorable summer.

Now, Jenny is entering her freshman year at the University of Michigan, where she will pursue a degree in Violin Performance under the guidance of Professor Danielle Belen. As she begins this new chapter, Jenny is excited to continue developing her musicianship and discover where her studies and artistic journey will take her.

We congratulate Jenny on this exciting new beginning and look forward to following her continued growth as a violinist and expressive young artist.
