Mairead, an artist with a deep appreciation for the power of art, seeks to create works that personally resonate with viewers. She believes that art should not only be visually appealing but also evoke emotional responses. Mairead aspires to provide her audience with an experience through her art, aiming to communicate her unique perspective and encourage open-mindedness towards diverse views and thoughts. She strives to make her art thought-provoking, controversial, and purposeful, with the intention of sparking conversations and making a positive difference in the world.

Mairead has a strong desire to attend the RISD Pre-College program due to its outstanding reputation and the opportunities it offers. She is particularly drawn to the program's access to exciting classes and materials that are not readily available in public high schools. Mairead hopes to advance technically as an artist and broaden her understanding of what art can be. She sees the program as a chance to immerse herself completely in the world of art, allowing for rapid growth and learning. Additionally, Mairead looks forward to collaborating with fellow artists and receiving feedback and critiques from both her peers and experienced instructors. The structured time offered by the program is also valuable to her, as it will allow her to fully focus on her passion without the distractions of a busy high school schedule.

Attending the RISD Pre-College program is expected to greatly enhance Mairead's technical and creative skills, providing her with the dedicated time and environment she desires to pursue her art.
