With a total of 12 years of dance experience, Imani's true training began at the age of 8 when she dedicated herself to daily studio practice. Dance became her passion, taking her to a place where nothing else mattered except her commitment to the art form. Her love for dance continues to drive her, fueling her determination to improve with each day spent in the studio. Imani believes that summer is the ideal time for dancers to step out of their comfort zones and seek new experiences and guidance from different teachers and choreographers.
With the support of the Anthony Quinn Foundation, Imani will be attending the Hubbard Street Dance Chicago summer intensive. She has admired and aspired to be part of the company associated with this program for the past two years. Although she was accepted into the competitive summer intensive last year, the financial burden prevented her from attending. Imani has faced similar challenges in the past, where her passion and talent were not enough to overcome the financial limitations that restricted her access to prestigious dance schools and programs. Attending the Hubbard Street program would be a transformative experience for Imani, as she would have the opportunity to work with renowned faculty, gain knowledge about technical and artistic aspects, and build connections that could bring her closer to her dream of joining the company.
Imani's dedication to dance and her commitment to pursuing her dreams shine through her desire to participate in the summer intensive. She is grateful that the Anthony Quinn Scholarship will provide her with the opportunity to overcome financial barriers and take a significant step forward in her dance journey.
