Antonio Lyon
2026 Instrumental Scholarship Recipient
Antonio Lyon is a 17-year-old drummer from Lithia, Florida, whose connection to music began in early childhood through an instinctive fascination with rhythm. Largely self-taught, he developed his skills through independent practice, learning by ear, and a deep commitment to refining his technique over time.
For Antonio, drumming is both a creative outlet and a personal foundation. His playing reflects his individuality, shaped by years of experimentation and persistence. As he has continued to grow, he has begun incorporating formal training to expand his musical knowledge while maintaining the distinctive style he developed on his own.
Antonio plans to pursue a professional career in music, with the goal of performing and inspiring others through his work. The AQF scholarship will support his development as he attends Berklee Aspire: Five-Week Music Performance Intensive, where he will strengthen his musicianship, gain experience in a collaborative environment, and prepare for future studies at the collegiate level.
