AJ, diagnosed with bipolar disorder at a young age, has always felt different from his peers. His emotions were intensified, and he struggled with irrational fears and racing thoughts. However, everything changed when he discovered theater class in 6th grade. Acting became his refuge, a place where he could be someone else and find clarity through scripts and performances. It provided him with a means to express himself and navigate life with greater understanding. Acting soon became more than a hobby for AJ; it became a necessary part of his journey towards a fulfilled life.

AJ's passion for acting has led him to pursue it as a lifelong career. As he enters the next phase of his life, he recognizes the importance of choosing a college that will enable him to nurture his talent and focus on his craft. The University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) stands out as a potential choice due to its reputation for providing fundamental training in performing arts. AJ is particularly drawn to the campus atmosphere at UNCSA and the opportunity to explore focus areas such as acting for the camera, combat stage fighting, and contemporary acting for character analysis.

With a firm conviction that his life is worth living passionately, AJ is determined to make his mark in the world of acting. He seeks an education that will allow him to harness his energy and emotions, captivating audiences and leaving a lasting impact. NYU Tisch Summer High School Drama Program holds the potential to provide him with the platform he needs to pursue his dreams and establish himself as a professional actor.
