Emily McShane Recognized with Emerging Artist Award

Emily’s (AQF ‘23) award-winning film has earned her international recognition and new opportunities as she begins her studies at RISD.

Emily McShane was honored with one of only three Emerging Artist Awards at the All American High School Film Festival, the largest high school film festival in the world. Selected as one of 36 winners from over 2,500 submissions representing all 50 states and 40 countries, Emily’s film was screened at the AMC Times Square during the festival.

At the festival’s award ceremony, The Teen Indie Awards, she received the Emerging Talent Award, which highlights the best films submitted by 9th, 10th, or 11th grade filmmakers. Along with the recognition, Emily was awarded a full tuition scholarship to a SCAD Summer Seminar valued at $1,850, as well as $1,000 worth of filmmaking software to support her continued artistic development.

This fall, Emily began her freshman year at the Rhode Island School of Design, where she is studying Film/Animation/Video and continuing to pursue her passion for storytelling through film.

We are excited to see how Emily’s creative voice continues to grow at RISD and beyond.
