She will be using her scholarship to attend the Rhode Island School of Design, Continuing Education, Young Artists Program, Painting Studio this summer. Please join us in congratulating Anna and wishing her the best this summer and in the future as she builds her art career.
What are your aspirations in your art form and/or career aspirations?
I want to become an Art Therapist, and also teach art in some form.
What do you do for fun? Do you have any interesting or unusual hobbies?
I'm a big reader. Once I have a book that I like, you have to pry it out of my hands. I also enjoy photography along with painting and sketching. Being blessed enough to live five minutes away from the bay, I spend a lot of time down there with a camera, paper, and watercolors.
What is something unique about you that you would like people to know?
I believe in equality. "Treat others as you would like to be treated" is mantra I was raised on and is something I strongly believe in.
The image below is called "Hazel." Anna says, "I did [it] for Day of the Dead early last October. I created it to honor a woman I was close to who passed away in February of 2011. She loved the piano and music, so I honored that in the piece."
