Amber Romano Expands Teaching and Choreographic Work in Dance

Amber (AQF ‘12) continues to shape the next generation of dancers while gaining national recognition as a choreographer and adjudicator.

Since receiving her AQF Dance Scholarship, Amber Romano has built a thriving career as a dance educator and choreographer. She is currently in her fourth year on faculty at the Governor’s School for the Arts in Norfolk, VA, where she teaches in both the Dance and Musical Theatre departments, and also teaches at two studios in Virginia Beach.

Amber has broadened her impact as a teacher on national stages. She taught ballet at the National High School Dance Festival in Pittsburgh, PA, this past winter, and at the Regional High School Dance Festival hosted by the Governor’s School in Norfolk the year before.

Her choreographic work has also been recognized and celebrated. She has presented two original works at the Governor’s School Dance Concerts, and earned choreography awards at both national and regional dance competitions. Additionally, she has served as an adjudicator at a national dance competition for the past two years, further affirming her expertise and leadership in the field.

We celebrate Amber’s accomplishments and look forward to her continued contributions to dance education and choreography.
