Mairead Dambruch
“It is my greatest honor to become a part of a creative lineage made possible by the fruits of divine inspiration of the actor and artist, Anthony Quinn. The Anthony Quinn Foundation is of course made possible by Mr. Quinn himself, but would not function without those who devote themselves to the benevolent work of allowing these opportunities for others. For those who, like Anthony, leap into eternity not knowing where one will fall. I am an artist, uncontrollably. It is sometimes messy, often arcane, but always pure in its urge to create. To harness and sustain the creative spirit; an entity that could be deemed hearsay, is often abandoned due to lack of support and belief. I want to thank the foundation, and all of those near and dear to me who have helped me on my path. I feel incredibly lucky and deeply touched to receive the Anthony Quinn Fellowship for 2023. In absolute gratitude, this honor allows me to continue to leap, unabashedly, and possess the immaterial and material means necessary to be. Thank you, and thank you for supporting the arts.”
