Charlotte has been passionate about art since she was a young child, regularly participating in the Fine Arts exhibit at the Dutchess County Fair. She finds joy in creating art and takes pride in seeing her work displayed and appreciated by others. A few years ago, Charlotte developed an interest in photography and eagerly pursued learning more about the craft. She acquired an old 35mm camera and embarked on a journey to master the art of traditional black and white film photography, with a particular focus on portraiture.
Her dedication and talent have led to opportunities as an official photographer for local church events. While she explores other mediums like ceramics and printmaking, it is in the darkroom where Charlotte truly thrives. She enjoys experimenting with different techniques, such as masking and printing on various materials. She is also keen to work with view cameras and pinhole cameras to capture diverse subjects.
Charlotte has her sights set on attending art school for college, and she has begun researching various programs. After attending a local Portfolio Day event and speaking with representatives, she discovered the pre-college program at the New Hampshire Institute of Art. Impressed by the school's photography program and inspired by her conversations with the admissions representative, Charlotte believes that this program will provide her with the ideal environment to challenge herself, diversify her portfolio, gain new perspectives, and develop a stronger artistic voice. She sees it as an opportunity to further her artistic journey and set a solid foundation for her future artistic endeavors.
