The spirit of the ALMA Awards was in full swing on Friday night, as the show celebrated 15 years of honoring Latinos in media.

The ALMA Awards recognizes artists in music, television and film who portray Latinos accurately and fairly. The ceremony was once again hosted by Eva Longoria and Mario Lopez who honored stars like Charo, Guillermo del Toro, Pitbull, Daisy Fuentes and more.

An emotional homage to Latinos in the military started off the evening and received a standing ovation from the audience. Afterwards, Longoria stunned in various gowns throughout the night as the stars shuffled on and off the stage presenting and accepting awards.

Spanish flamenco guitarist and actress Charo was honored with the Ricardo Montalban Award for Lifetime Achievement while Cuban host and model Daisy Fuentes took home the NCLR ALMA Vanguard Award. And it wouldn’t be the 21st century unless Enrique Iglesias could’ve presented Pitbull the Special Achievement in Music award via webcam.

An adorably pregnant Zoe Saldana showed off her twin-baby bump while presenting Guillermo del Toro with the Anthony Quinn Award for Industry Excellence. The Mexican director, who turned 50 on Thursday, told Telemundo’s cameras backstage that he would continue celebrating in pants and socks.

NCLR president Janet Murguía gave her annual speech, asking Latinos to unite and continue fighting for their rights. And celebrities present were called to action, the show asked the stars to tweet about the importance of voting in the upcoming November 4th election.

In true Latino tradition, the ceremony closed off with some music.
